Our culture
Our culture

It’s not what you say, it’s how you do it
We acknowledge our significant responsibility to our customers through both the trust and reliance they place upon us to provide the best quality advice and support for them and their families.
This responsibility means we have always been driven by the impact of our actions. We believe that doing the right thing is incredibly important and is the reason we are so proud to be an independent business that offers truly impartial advice.
Only through this independence and impartiality can we truly offer deals with the needs, aspirations and best interests of our customers at heart.
We take great pride in the quality of our award winning advice and ensure all our advisers are fully trained, qualified and meet the ongoing compliance regulations expected from one of the industry’s leading later life businesses.
Our senior team hold board level positions within industry associations to ensure that we are continually, not just biding by, but inspiring the future of our industry from a technological innovation, regulatory and compliance standard standpoint.

What it’s like to work here
People over process
While we understand the importance of robust operational processes and have made significant investment in them over the years, we acknowledge that it is our people that really make a difference to our business. We value each and every one of their individual and collective contributions and ensure they are rewarded accordingly.

Understanding and empathy
Our customers place an incredible amount of trust and faith in us. We understand the importance of this and take the time to listen to our customers to fully understand their needs and aspirations, so that we can make recommendations based on their objectives both now and in the future. By communicating and acting with honesty and ensuring we are always truthful, we are able to build trust and loyalty with our customers.

Open, inclusive, inspiring
We believe that when we work together, great things can be achieved. Although most advisers work remotely, we actively encourage an open culture including sharing of best practice. We also work hard to ensure we hold regular business meetings and social events to create a culture that is both inclusive and inspiring.

Teamwork
This starts with our training academy. We indoctrinate the culture and importance of teamwork. We use the word ‘family’ regularly within the business and it’s recognition of the support from within every department. From case coordinators assisting clients process applications, to compliance providing advisers with a technical helpdesk, or even the corporate team developing strategy to keep driving the business forward.

Entrepreneurial spirit
We have worked hard over the years to ensure the entrepreneurial spirit established by our Founder, Mark has remained a steadfast part of our culture and ethos. We actively encourage all of our staff to contribute to the success of our business by empowering them to offer ideas and suggestions for how we could improve our service and overall customer experience.

Relaxed working environment
Keeping all members of staff feeling safe, relaxed and focussed is one of the contributory factors in reaching their potential. Our new HQ at 304 Bridgewater Place was uniquely designed to provide just that. Whether it’s the administrators breaking out to their chill-out area, advisers jumping onto a hotdesk after an appointment, or the use of our high tech meeting rooms, there is a workplace model to support every member of the company.
